After thanksgiving we shot down to Hidden Valley (next to Napa) to hang out with Anna's dad.  Bill and Colleen had just returned from a little vacation in Hawaii so I didn't get to meet them our first time out.  Hidden Valley Lake is a pretty sweet place... Bill took us around to show us the vineyard project he's working on with his business partner Phil.  Check out the test vineyards they've planted.

So Anna didn't realize it but a few weeks earlier when Bill was still in Hawaii he and I had worked out a little suprise birthday party for Anna at her Grandma and Grandpa Lincoln's place in Oakville. The plans were kept in the utmost secrecy and really, Bill did all the hard work. All I had to do was make sure Anna showed and of course fulfil my requisite duties as wine pourer. Actually, Grandpa Lincoln helped out with that.

Oh, also, I helped Bill char the tri-tip we had for dinner... I lost some arm hair and a bit of an eyebrow in that exercise.  Sean and Mike would hurt me if they witnessed this terrible lapse in barbequery. Anyway, it was tasty but I smelled like meat for about a week. Good thing we weren't camping in the woods.  Thanks to Bill and the Lincoln family, Anna got a chance to see a lot of her aunts and uncles (there were 10 kids in Bill's family) that she hadn't seen in a while. You should see the work that goes into distributing cake and iced cream for thirty people.  Yikes.  What a good time!!
